Allan Donald to continue as Bangladesh Bowling Coach for India Series

Bangladesh’s Pace Bowling Coach Allan Donald will continue in his role in their upcoming home series against India. The development has been confirmed by BCB’s Chief Executive Officer Nizamuddin Chowdhury.

BCB has appointed Donald till the end of the T20 World Cup 2022 but now the board is planning to have him in Bangladesh’s Coaching Staff for their upcoming home series against India. India’s series against Bangladesh comprises two Tests & three ODIs.

“Allan Donald is available during the home series against India,” Nizamuddin said. “His contract (that is signed till the ICC T20 World Cup 2022) is an internal matter but he is available during the India series.”

As per the sources, the BCB is planning to extend the contract of their foreign coaches in their next board meeting which is slated to be held after BCB President Nazmul Hasan returns from Australia on November 14 after the conclusion of the T20 World Cup 2022.

BCB is yet to announce whether they will extend the contract of Sridharan Sriram as his contract too got ended with the T20 World Cup. The Board is expecting to extend his contract as they are happy with his performance in the marquee event. Russell Domingo will join the team after 14th November to guide them ahead of their home series against India.

BCB got impressed with Allan Donald work in the T20 World Cup

For the unversed, the BCB has adopted Split Coaching Approach ahead of the Asia Cup 2022 as they were unhappy with Domingo’s performance in the T20 format. They have handed the reins of the T20 format to Sriram by appointing him as a Technical Consultant. A top BCB Official said that they are happy with Donald’s performance as their pace unit performed well under his guidance in the ongoing marquee event.

Rahman was rested from the New Zealand tri-series after the opening clash of the series & Donald was tasked to work with his pace & bowling action to help him get back his old rhythm. And Donald succeed in the task assigned to him as Mustafizur has yielded good results in the T20 World Cup 2022.

Meanwhile, India vs Bangladesh home series will begin on 4th December with three-match ODI series followed by two-match Test series with the series concluding with the second Test on 26th of December.
