Australia is taking on Sri Lanka in a two-match Test series and has taken a 1-0 lead by defeating Sri Lanka by a massive 10 wickets. The first test took place at the Galle International Stadium. Nathan Lyon now has 436 wickets in his tally. He broke the previous record of Kapil Dev who chipped in 434 wickets in his Test career. Kapil Dev held the tenth position for a long time until it was finally broken by the versatile Australian spinner.
Lyon’s sparkling performance gave Australia a competitive advantage where they only had to chase five runs in the fourth innings to win the match. Australia chased down the total without dropping their sweat.

In the third innings, Sri Lanka was bundled out for a total of 113 runs, thanks to Nathan Lyon (4/31) and Swepson (4/10). Australia got a target of just 5 runs that was chased in the first over itself & with this Australia registered a massive win over Sri Lanka. Cameron Green was adjudged as the Man of the Match for his brilliant knock of 77 runs.
The second Test between the two sides is scheduled to take place on 8th July 2022 at the Galle International Stadium.
