BAN vs ENG 2023: England is all set to tour Bangladesh for their first-ever bilateral series in six years in March 2023. The limited overs series comprising three ODIs & three T20Is will be played over two weeks in Dhaka & Chattogram.
Three match ODI series is a part of their ODI Super League, a tournament that is played to figure out which teams would enter the World Cup 2023 directly. Notably, Bangladesh & England have already qualified for the series. The first two fixtures of the ODI format will be played on March 1 & 3 while the third ODI will be played in Chattogram on March 6. After the conclusion of the ODI series, Bangladesh & England will play their first-ever bilateral T20I series. The first fixture of the T20I series will be played on March 9 in Chattogram while the other two will be played in Dhaka on March 12 & 14.
England will reach Bangladesh for the bilateral series around February 20 where they will play two practice matches before the ODI series actually commence. The last time when England toured Bangladesh in 2016, they won the ODI series by a 2-1 score. However, it was Bangladesh who had an upper hand in the England Test series which they drew by 0-1 score.
Commenting on England touring Bangladesh, ECB Chief Executive Clare Connor said that he is excited to see both teams playing a bilateral series after a long time.
“It is exciting that the England men’s white-ball squad will return to Bangladesh for the first time since 2016,” she said. “The atmosphere generated in Dhaka and Chattogram for this eagerly-anticipated tour will be fantastic. There is a great passion for cricket across Bangladesh, and we expect a tough challenge against a side who have an excellent record in home conditions,” Connor added to his statement
