It’s a moment of joy for Nitish Rana as he scored his maiden half century against Delhi Capitals & dedicated it to his father-in-law, Surinder Marwah who died on Friday.

Nitish Rana was promoted in KKR’s top batting order to open the innings with Shubman Gill. Rana smashed Nortje by hitting boundary on the last ball of 13th over to register his 10th IPL fifty off 35 deliveries. Soon after reaching his half century, Rana raised a specially designed KKR T-shirt with his father-in-law’s name inscribed on the back of his T-shirt. He & Sunil Narine together stitched a 115 runs stand for the fourth wicket in just 56 balls on which KKR posted a huge total of 194/6 in 20 overs.

After KKR were sent to bat by DC captain Shreyas Iyer, KKR started very badly losing Shubman Gill & Rahul Tripathi in the Power-play. Captain Dinesh Karthik’s below average form continued & he got out after hitting the ball which landed straight in pant’s hands behind the stumps. KKR decided to send Narine ahead of captain Eoin Morgan & the cricketer made a solid comeback into the side, by facing power-pack attack of opponent’s bowlers & scoring a quick 64 runs off 32 balls putting KKR in a strong commanding position.

After Narine’s departure Rana handled the batting of KKR by hitting spectacular boundaries. He got out on the second last delivery of the innings by scoring whopping 81 runs off 53 balls. Morgan also departed on the last ball but till then KKR had already reached a decent total which was enough for them to hail a glorious victory.

Jersey

Mumbai Indians hails victory against CSK on Friday in Sharjah Cricket Stadium. The Pandya brothers were seen posing with CSK captain MS Dhoni’s ‘No.7’ Jersey after winning the match.

Mumbai Indians beat CSK by 10 wickets & went up to the top spot on the Points Table with 14 points scored from 10 matches while CSK remained at the bottom with all hopes of making the playoffs almost zero. However the Pandya brothers had more than just the win to savor. “A memorabilia to cherish for the Pandya brothers” read the caption of the picture posted by Indian Premier League (IPL) on Twitter.

Mumbai Indians posted the same picture with a different caption. The caption was in a question form, “Whose wardrobe is this getting into?” Suryakumar quickly commented, “Chalo no jhagda, mai le jaata hu (No need to fight over it, I will take it away and resolve the issue).” While Suryakumar & Hardik’s services were not required in yesterday’s match, Krunal took a wicket & a catch to help MI to restrict CSK to just 114 runs for 9 in 20 overs.

In reply, Ishan Kishan hit a spectacular half century while Quinton de Kock remained unbeaten on 46 runs as Mumbai Indians achieved the target in just 12.2. Overs. The MI bowlers put together a stunning show as CSK struggled to get any kind of momentum in their innings after being reduced to just 3 for 4 in their third over of the innings. The score than was 30 for 6 & soon took 43 for 7 before Sam Curran scored some runs for CSK & helped the team to cross the 100 runs mark. Trent Boult & Jasprit Bumrah were playing with the new ball. Boult finished 4 for 18 from four overs while Bumrah got 2 for 25 runs.

IPL 2020, KKR vs. DC: It’s a Face-Off between Eoin Morgan & Kasigo Rabada!

0
Morgan

KKR captain Eoin Morgan saw his team surrender their wickets easily in their previous match against RCB. In previous match Morgan was the highest run-scorer for KKR by scalping 30 runs off 34 deliveries & Lockie Ferguson was the second highest run-scorer for KKR who accounted 18 runs as the KKR franchise were bowled out at a below average total of 84 runs.

However Eoin will look forward that the history doesn’t get repeated in today’s clash & will be hopeful of noticing some change in their form with the return of Sunil Narine & Andre Russell. Morgan will be aware that the contributions of the duo will be sufficient to help KKR hail victory, if not supported by a game changing knock from him. The English batsman is capable of changing the game alone single handedly & today’s match against Delhi capitals is a good opportunity for him to show his capability.

However Morgan will have to manage Rabada who is currently in terrific form, leading the race for Purple Cap. Rabada is right now in full-form, scalping 21 wickets in just 10 matches at an average of 14.33. The South African bowler has emerged as a game changer for DC on various situations where he has changed the entire game in the favor of DC through his brilliant bowling strategy. Rabada accounted for the very crucial dismissal of Russell in their previous match which was between these two sides. However, he proved very expensive giving away 51 runs to the opponents. The upcoming match provides him enough opportunity to rectify his mistake.

Morgan smashed 44 runs in just 18 deliveries in an innings comprising of a single boundary & five sixes where the teams faced off each other in the previous match. However Morgan will surely try to make an impact through his performance in today’s clash which will be a tough task for him in presence of Rabada.

MS Dhoni is quite Upset with CSK’s Gigantic 10 Wickets Loss to Mumbai Indians!

ongoing IPL

CSK captain MS Dhoni is quite disappointed with his side’s poor performance in the ongoing IPL 2020 & tried to introspect into the reasons behind his team’s struggle in the ongoing IPL matches followed by yesterday’s 10 wickets defeat against Mumbai Indians.

CSK were reduced to 43/7 at one point after being sent to bat eventually posting a total of 114/9. The cheap dismissals of Openers Ruturaj & FAF Du Plessis exposed the middle order too early & the players surrendered their wickets easily. Dhoni admitted that it is necessary to wear a smile despite of being in pain in order to avoid the state of panic in the toughest of situations.

“Even when you are hurting you put a smile on your face so that the management doesn’t look like they are in panic,” Dhoni said at the post-match presentation.

“That is what the youngsters want and I feel the boys have done that. We have kept the dressing room like that and hopefully we can turn it around in the next three games at least for pride,” he added.

Speaking about the defeat faced on Friday, Dhoni said, “Whenever we did not get off to a good start it kept getting difficult for the middle order.” CSK’s defeat on Friday adds on to the number of losses which the Chennai based franchise faced in the ongoing IPL 2020.

CSK’s defeat against MI made it three consecutive losses for CSK with the previous two coming against RR & Delhi Capitals. “In cricket when you are going through a tough phase, you need a bit of luck to go your way. But in this tournament, it hasn’t really gone our way,” said Dhoni.

“Whenever you aren’t doing well there can be a hundred reasons. One of the main things you ask yourself is whether you are playing to your potential. When you put out a playing eleven and judge whether they have done well to justify their stats on paper on the field, I feel this year we have not done that,” he added.
