Coming to the match, Batting first, Bangladesh had the worst possible start as they lost two wickets in the first three overs. Opener Mahmudul Hasan Joy & Najmul Hossain Shanto walked back to the hut with just three runs on board.

Mominul Haque too couldn’t get going & was sent packing off Jayden Seales’s fiery spell. Tamim Iqbal & Litton Das were the ones who anchored their innings for some time but couldn’t do much as Tamim got dismissed by Alzarri Joseph followed by Mayers leaving the Tigers reeking at 41-5.

Shakib along with Mehidy Hasan did the rebuilding work for Bangladesh & took their scores across the 75-run mark but the latter was caught by Joshua Da Silva on Jayden Seales’s delivery. Wickets kept falling for Bangladesh as Seales struck to dismiss Mustafizur Rahman with Bangladesh’s score reading at 81-8. It was Alzarri Joseph who put the last nail in the coffin by dismissing Shakib & Khaled & thereby restricting Bangladesh to 103.

Coming to bat in the second innings, Kraigg Brathwaite & John Campbell provided a great start to their team. However, their flourishing stand was broken by Mustafizur Rahman who dismissed Campbell for 24 runs. Raymon Reifer came on the crease & continued power-hitting for West Indies.

But their happiness couldn’t stay long as Ebadot Hossain gave Bangladesh their second major breakthrough in the 34th over by sending Raymon back to the pavilion. However, Nkrumah Bonner joined hands with Kraigg Brathwaite & the duo helped West Indies to finish Day 1 at 95-2. West Indies will now resume Day 2 at 95-2, just eight runs less than Bangladesh’s first innings total.
