Dwayne Bravo returned with his career-best figures of 4-19 to guide West Indies to a series leveling victory over South Africa in the fourth match of the T20I series at Grenada National Cricket Stadium.
West Indies had a good start to their innings with Lendl Simmons smashing 47 runs. The highlight of his innings was a quick-fire 20 runs fetched off the first over. However visitors pounced back by restricting the hosts from stitching a stable partnership in the crucial middle overs. All credits go to the bowling great Tabraiz Shamsi who fetched 2 wickets for 13 runs & George Linde who scalped 2 for 16 runs
To stable their submerging ship, West Indies sent Kieron Pollard on the crease. Pollard waved his magical bat & produced 51 runs off 25 balls to bring the hosts back into the game. Pollard hit 51 off 25 balls & Fabian Allen smashed 19 runs to bring up 66 runs on board & help West Indies to finish on a decent target of 167/6 off allotted 20 overs.
Chasing an average target of 168 runs, the South Africa squad relied on the consistent scorer Quinton De Kock to chase the target & the Proteas squad towards a comfy victory. However soon, De Kock got dismissed off Bravo’s delivery after scoring a decent score of 60 runs right at the start of the 18th over. Quinton’s dismissal was a celebratory moment for the West Indies squad as no other batsmen of the Proteas squad could make a difference on the field. The swash-buckling all-rounder Dwayne Bravo 4-19 added two more dismissals under his belt & restricted South Africa to 146-9 in their chase of 168 runs.
The five-match T20I series is now leveled at 2-2, the fifth & final T20I of this tour will be the decider match which will be played on Saturday afternoon at the Grenada National cricket stadium.
