ENG vs IND, 1st Test: England had an edge over India on day two of the first test as the momentum of the game shifted towards England after they made a comeback in the second session by scalping crucial wickets of visitors.

India is 125/4 at stumps with KL Rahul 57* & Rishabh Pant 7* at the crease & India is trailing by 58 runs in the first innings of Day 2 before an early stump was called due to rain. In the third session of Day 2, only one ball was bowled as rain again interrupted the gameplay. In the second session, India had suffered a major blow as they lost three quick wickets. Cheteshwar Pujara, Virat Kohli & Ajinkya Rahane all were dismissed poorly as James Anderson dismissed Virat Kohli for a duck.

In the first session, India had scored 97/1 with KL Rahul stayed unbeaten at the crease. Rohit Sharma once again was not able to capitalize on a good start & India lost their first wicket right in the last over before lunch.

Earlier by resuming Day 2 at 21/0 Indian opener Rohit Sharma & KL Rahul played cautiously & easily passed the first hour of the innings without any hiccups. India’s openers were looking quite confident & were all set to trouble England’s pacers by smashing their deliveries all over the stadium. The duo mixed caution with aggression & was going to complete the first session, but Rohit (36) went for a hoot shot off Ollie Robinson’s bowling & ended up giving a simple catch to Sam Curran. He got dismissed on the last over before lunch on Day 2.
