Pakistan speedster, Hasan Ali has been ruled out of the first T20I international against England. He has reportedly suffered a strain in his left leg. The pacer reportedly picked up the strain during a training session.
Hasan Ali was part of the Pakistan squad for the T20 series. However, he won’t be available for the first T20 international. In his absence, the onus would be on the likes of Haris Rauf and Shaheen Shah Afridi to produce a well-balanced bowling attack for the team in the first match.
Hasan Ali bowled well in the recently concluded ODI series against England. He picked a five-wicket haul in the second ODI and overall took 6 wickets in three games. Though, his performances weren’t enough to help Pakistan earn a solitary win in the series.
Prior to the start of the ODI series, Pakistan seemed favorites to win it as England was playing with a second-string team. Most of their senior members were sidelined after positive cases emerged from England camp days before the start of the series.
A second-string England side, led by Ben Stokes, stunned Pakistan in the ODI series, winning it 3-0. Pakistan failed to win a single game out of three. S.Mahmood had an unforgettable series with the ball. He starred for England, claiming as many as 9 wickets in just 3 ODIs. Owing to his sensational performances, he earned the player of the tournament award.
Pakistan, on the other hand, received a lot of criticism for losing all three games, that too against a second-string England side. It remains to be if they could make a comeback in the upcoming T20 series, starting today.
