IND vs ENG 4th Test 2021 Live Updates: India pacer Jasprit Bumrah has registered his 100th Test wicket by removing Ollie Pope in the 2nd innings of the IND vs ENG 4th Test 2021 at the Kennington Oval, London. Jasprit Bumrah has achieved this remarkable feat in his 24th test to become the fastest Indian pacer to scalp 100 tets wickets.

Bumrah broke pacer Kapil dev’s record who took 25 tests to achieve 100 test wickets milestone while Bumrah took just 24 tests to achieve this milestone. Former Indian pacer Irfan Pathan is third on the list who reached 100 wickets milestone in 28 matches while Mohammad Shami occupies the fourth spot in the list.

“What a way to reach the milestone!@Jaspritbumrah93 bowls a beauty as Pope is bowled. Among Indian pacers, he is the quickest to reach the mark of 100 Test wickets,” BCCI tweeted.

While Chasing 368, England was reduced to 146 for five in the second session of Day five after Jasprit Bumrah removed Jonny Bairstow with a Yorker to bring up his 100th test wicket in style. Jasprit Bumrah becomes the ninth bowler to register the 100th wicket in his 24th Test. Jasprit Bumrah also becomes the joint eighth fastest Indian wicket-taker in test cricket.

Off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin is the fastest Indian bowler to reach the 100 wickets milestone. He achieved the feat in just 18 games during the West Indies tour of India in 2013.

Fastest Indian pacers to register 100 Test wickets

Meanwhile, England’s batsmen had a tough time delivering in front of India’s bowling attack in the second session of day five as Indian bowlers took the honors in the first session of the fifth morning in the fourth Test at the Kennington Oval.

Jasprit Bumrah now becomes the second-highest wicket-taker in the ongoing India vs England five-match test series after Ollie Robinson who scalped 21 wickets in four matches. Bumrah bags 17 wickets in 4 matches with an average just above 22. Due to Jasprit Bumrah’s heroics with the ball in the ongoing tets series he has been nominated for the ICC Men’s Player of the Month Award as well.

After showing a spectacular prowess in white-ball cricket Jasprit Bumrah made his test debut for India during India’s South Africa tour in the 2017-18 season. He created a difference with his bowling right from the beginning of his career by scalping 14 wickets in his debut Test. Later in 2018, he played a crucial role in India’s first-ever Test series win in Australia.

One of the three A+ grade contract holders in Indian cricket alongside skipper Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah is the 10th-ranked bowler in Test cricket.
