IND vs ENG 4th Test 2021: Rohit Sharma registers his maiden overseas century

Finally day three of the IND vs ENG 4th Test 2021 is the day for India’s ‘hitman’ Rohit Sharma who has registered his maiden overseas century at the oval. He has smashed Moeen Ali for a six to reach the milestone in style.

There were several doubts arising on Rohit Sharma’s form & how he could fare overseas in Test Cricket. But today on the third day of the ongoing IND vs ENG 4th Test 2021, Rohit shut the mouth of his critics by bringing up his maiden overseas century in style.

Fans got overwhelmed to witness the ‘hitman’ finally sealing his maiden overseas century. Here is what they had to say:

Rohit Sharma got a new life in tets cricket as an opener in the 2019 home series against South Africa & bangaldesh. India’s opener showed an unbelievable show with the bat. In the five test matches, Rohit scored 556 runs at an average of above 92 including three hundred and a double hundred. However, his critics still doubted his ability to score in tough conditions away from home.

In the first three tests of the ongoing test series, Rohit Sharma got off to good starts but wasn’t able to convert them into big scores. But finally today in the ongoing fourth test he registered his much-awaited maiden overseas century. Stitching a crucial opening partnership with KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma ensured that India overcomes the first-innings deficit of 99 runs. After Rahul walked back to the pavilion, Rohit together with Cheteshwar Pujara steadied India’s innings.

Rohit Sharma’s century stand with Pujara is taking India to a dominant position in the Oval test as they are 199 for 1 at the tea on day 3. Both the batsmen will aim to accelerate India’s total to make things complicated for England in the final innings.
