Posting few photos on Twitter Pant said, “Thrilled to be back. Thank you @RaviShastriOfc for this grand welcome”. Pant has tested positive for COVID-19 & thus he couldn’t play in the ongoing warm-up match. After returning two with two negative RT-PCR test reports, Pant was allowed to join the team on Thursday.

Earlier on Thursday informing about Rishabh’s recovery, the BCCI shared a post on Twitter & wrote, “Hello @RishabhPant17, great to have you back”. Rishabh Pant’s return to the squad is a benefit for team India as they now have a specialist wicket-keeper available with them.

The BCCI medical team had also identified that Bharat Arun, Wriddhiman Saha & Abhimanyu Easwaran as close contacts of Dayanand Garani who had tested positive for COVID-19 following RT-PCR tests on July 14.

The four members of the Indian contingent are currently undergoing 10 days of isolation & will remain in their rooms in the team’s hotel in London. According to the reports, the quarantine period of Bharat Arun, Wriddhiman Saha & Abhimanyu Easwaran will end by 24th July & they can rejoin the team after clearing their RT-PCR tests.

Meanwhile adding to the injury list, Washington Sundar has been ruled out of the five-match test series against England due to a fracture in his finger. Injured players Avesh Khan, Washington Sundar & Shubman Gill will not feature in the test series & will return home for rehabilitation. Shubman Gill has already reached India on Thursday & will now undergo rehabilitation. The absence of Avesh Khan, Washington Sundar & Shubman Gill could prove costly for the Indian team.
