India Cricket Team News: Ravi Shastri to bid goodbye to Indian Team after T20 World Cup 2021

Indian Cricket Team News: A major shock for the Indian cricket team fans, as there are talks that Current Head Coach Ravi Shastri may bid goodbye to the Indian team after the conclusion of the T20 World Cup 2021 in the UAE. Even the BCCI has invited applications for the post of the NCA Head on Tuesday so predictions are made that current NCA Head Rahul Dravid might get elevated to a bigger role with the senior team in the near future.

Speaking about the matter to ANI, a BCCI source said that the Officials will interact with Shastri & the Indian team during their stay in London during the course of the Lord’s test & if the talks of Ravi Shastri quitting from his role of Head Coach is true then discussions will be made around that as well.

“Too early to talk about this, but as you are aware the president, secretary, treasurer & Vice-President are landing in London today. So they will interact with Shastri & the team & discuss various things around the tour & future of Indian cricket. If there is much to the topic of Ravi Shastri not looking to continue, it will surely be discussed over the course of the Lord’s test. But I would still say too early”, the source said.

Rahul Dravid is seen as the potential candidate to take over Shastri’s role if he decides to exit. But recently after the conclusion of the India tour of Sri Lanka, Rahul Dravid said that he hasn’t thought of being a full-time coach of the national team yet.

“I have enjoyed this experience. You know, I have not really thought anything far ahead”, Rahul Dravid revealed at a virtual post-match press conference after the third & final T20I, “You know to be honest with you I am happy doing what I am doing. For me, I haven’t given any other thought than this tour & getting through this tour”. Rahul Dravid added

The BCCI in its invitation for the post of the NCA Cricket Head has said that the person will report to the BCCI Secretary & will get a two-year contract. The person will supervise 25-30 people & 12 will report directly to the head. The invitation further stated that the NCA Head will be responsible for running all cricket coaching Programs at the National Cricket Academy. He alone will be responsible for the development of emerging & youth cricketers within the male & female player development programs who are sent to the NCA for training.
