IND vs SA 2021, 1st Test: Jasprit Bumrah (3/50) & Mohammed Shami (3/63) impressed everyone with the ball as India defeated South Africa by 113 runs to register a historic win in Centurion to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match test series.

Resuming their innings for 94 for 4, South Africa didn’t last long & were eventually bowled out for 191 runs in 68 overs. This memorable marks India’s first test win in Centurion. India scalped three wickets in the opening session of Day 5 to reduce South Africa to 182 for 7 by the lunch break. However, Proteas captain Dean Elgar troubled Indian bowlers for a while. He was heading strong as he reached 63 & continued to frustrate India even smashing Bumrah for a couple of boundaries.

However, Bumrah didn’t let the Proteas walk away with the victory as he trapped Elgar for 77. The left-handed batsman missed his flick shot to a length ball that nipped in from outside off & was trapped in front of the stumps. Elgar went for a review, but replays showed the ball would have crashed into a leg stump.

Quinton De Kock came in & play some stunning strokes but his stint was very short. He chopped a delivery onto the stumps & was bowled for 21 off Mohammed Siraj’s delivery. In the very next over, Mohammed Shami joined the party by sending Wiaan Mulder back to the pavilion with a stunning delivery that was straight enough to take an outside edge. Temba Bavuma battled hard for South Africa and remained unbeaten on 34 at Lunch on Day 5 with debutant Marco Jansen giving him company.
