IND vs SA 2021: India team to leave the Rainbow Nation immediately if the Omicron Cases Increases

IND vs SA 2021: Amidst the rising issues surrounding COVID-19 the series between India & South Africa is already being played behind closed doors. Now on the request of BCCI, CSA has guaranteed that the Indian toruing contingent will immediately flied out in case the COVID-19 situation worsens in the country.

According to CSA’s Chief Medical officer Dr Shuaib Manjra the South African government has agreed that even if the borders will be closed Indian team will be allowed to fly out in case of any issue.

 “If there needs to be repatriation and the borders are closed, the government has given a guarantee that they will allow the players and the team to go back to India.

“I think we’ve taken whatever measures we can to ensure that the Indian team is not only safe here, but should they need to leave for whatever reason, that the path is open for them to leave at any point that they wish.”, Manjra was quoted by News24.

With the country already groing through its fourth COVID-19 wave & the advent of Omicron variant lots of questions were raised over the commencement of the series. However the BCCI is satisfied with the steps taken by the CSA governemnt to safeguard the Indian team from any COVID-19 threat.

“We are regularly in touch with CSA officials & the Indian team management in South-Africa. Team is having very comfortable stay. As now the series is behind closed doors – any threat further gets diminished. CSA also has assured in case of any untoward, Indian team will be immediately given permissions to fly out”, told the BCCI offiical.

Indian Touring Contingent statying in a Private Resort instead of a Hotel

CSA has put their best efforst to ensure the safety of the toruing Indian contingent. The board has made the arrangements for the stay of the Indian team in a resort instead of a hotel. CSA has booked a complete resort for the Indian team with no outside guests allowed into the resort. The Resort staff are currnetly quarantining at the hotel & are being subjected to regular tests by the top officials. Everything that comes on to the property is thoroughly checked to ensure that all the health and safety requirements are met with COVID-19 compliance officers being appointed at the Resort.

Indiatially India was scheduled to arrive in SA on December 9 for a series comprising three tests, three ODIs & four T20Is. However a change in the tour schedule resulted in the postponement of the four match T20Is to a later date. The Indian continegt arrived in SA on 16th december with the test series commencing on 26th december.
