IND vs SA 2021: CSA announce 17 man squad for the three match ODI series

IND vs SA 2021, ODI Series: CSA on Sunday announced a 17 man squad for the upcoming three-match ODI series against India. Young & energetic Marco Jansen continues his dominance over the International arena after being selected in a 17 man squad for the ODI series against India. Jansen who made his test debut in the Boxing Day test against India has never featured in the ODI format before.

Temba Bavuma will continue to lead the ODI squad with Keshav Maharaj continue to be his deputy. Quinton De Kock who recently called time on his Test career has been selected in the ODI as well. Dwaine Pretorius makes a comeback to the ODI Squad. But the major concern for South Africa is the absence of Anrich Nortje from the ODI squad. The pacer is undergoing rehabilitation after being ruled out of the Test series due to a hip injury. Meanwhile, Wayne Parnell who made a comeback to the ODI squad during the Netherlands series has retained his spot alongside Zubayr Hamza who made his debut in the opening ODI.

“This is a very exciting group and the Selection Panel and I are eager to see what they will produce,” CSA Convenor of Selectors, Victor Mpitsang said. “For many of our players, it does not get bigger than playing against this powerhouse Indian team and this will be the biggest series of their young lives so far. We are looking forward to seeing what they bring to the table and wish Temba (Bavuma) and Mark (Boucher) all the best for the series.”
