IND vs WI 3rd T20I Highlights: Riding on the back of Suryakumar’s outstanding 76 off 44 balls & Rishabh Pant’s 33 off 26 balls, India marched towards a stupendous seven-wicket win over West Indies. Though West Indies displayed a great show with the bat & put up a decent total on board, the Men in Blue made a point to chase it without shedding a sweat.

Mayers blistering 76 guided West Indies to a decent Score

The match was unveiled with India winning the toss & opting to bowl first. Batting first, West Indies got off to a mindblowing start as their opener Brandon King & Kyle Mayers weaved a remarkable 57-run stand for the opening wicket. However, Brandon who adopted a ball-a-run approach soon was sent packing for 20 runs off Hardik Pandya’s delivery. Nicholas Pooran then took the crease & along with Kyle Mayers, the duo smashed the Indian bowlers all across the park. The duo stitched a crucial 50-run stand before Bhuvneshwar Kumar displayed his tactics of bounce & pace to remove Pooran for 22 runs in the 14th over.

Wickets kept falling like a pack of cards for hosts but Mayers was going strong at one end. He played strokeful shots & smashed Indian batters left & right across the park. However, it was Bhuvneshwar Kumar who had the last laugh as he sent the big hitter back to the hut in the 16th over. Mayers went back to the pavilion after scoring 76 runs off 44 balls. His innings were embellished with eight fours & fours sixes. Later Rovman Powell (23 off 14) & Shimron Hetmyer (20 off 12) anchored West Indies innings & helped them to post a competitive 164 runs total on board. For India, the best bowler was Bhuvneshwar Kumar who returned with figures of 2-35 while Hardik Pandya & Arshdeep Singh scalped one wicket each.

Suryakumar-Pant’s heroics guides India over the line in the 19th Over

In reply, India got off to a perfect start with their openers Rohit Sharma & Suryakumar Yadav scoring with an aggressive approach. However, Rohit went back to the hut in the second over after getting retired hurt. In his brief cameo, he scored 11 runs off 5 balls with one four & one six. Shreyas Iyer marched on the crease & the duo stitched a stable stand to take India’s score above the 100-run mark. However, when their stand was blooming, West Indies put a full stop to it by removing Shreyas Iyer for 24 runs off 27 balls. Shreyas’s dismissal brought Rishabh Pant on the crease.

The duo of Rishabh & Suryakumar kept the scoreboard ticking for India. But in the 15th over, Dominic Drakes gave hosts the much-needed breakthrough by sending Suryakumar back to the pavilion. Suryakumar went back after playing a beautiful knock of 76 runs off 44 balls embellished with eight fours & four sixes. But till that time the damage was already done to West Indies as India was a couple of runs away from a series-clinching win.

Later, Deepak Hooda joined Rishabh Pant on the crease & the duo easily took India over the line in 19 overs with seven wickets to spare. Rishabh Pant finished at an unbeaten 33 runs off 26 balls while Hooda stayed managed to stay unbeaten at 10 runs. With this thumping win, India took a 2-1 lead in the five-match T20I series & is looking favorite to win the last two matches of the series in Florida in the USA.
