Indian Team's Journey from Mumbai to Southampton

Indian Men’s & Women’s teams landed in London on Thursday & headed to the Ageas Bowl to start their Quarantine period. The Indian Men’s team will finish their three days hard quarantine period before starting their training.

While the men’s team will prepare for the WTC final against New Zealand, the Indian women’s team will lock horns with England’s women’s team in a one-off test match followed by ODIs & T20Is. Taking to Twitter the BCCI, posted a video of the Indian women’s & men’s team travel journey to Southampton & captioned the post as “Excitement is building up as #TeamIndia arrive in England”.

In the video, Axar Patel is seen describing his travel journey, he said, “It has been wonderful. The first two hours watched a movie, & then slept for six hours. Now having my breakfast. Planning to get into Quarantine after reaching. As we are told that we can’t meet each other for the next three days.

Whereas batsman Cheteeshwar Pujara said in the video that, he & his daughter slept really well on the flight. The video displayed almost all the members of the touring Contingent as they moved around, inside the charter plane.

“As per the bio-safety protocols established for the WTC final in accordance with the UK Government & Public Health England requirements. The Indian men’s team will arrive in the UK on 3rd June 2021 via a Charter Plane & carrying the evidence of a negative PCR test”, the ICC had said in an Official Release.

After reaching the Hampshire Bowl, the players were tested again before starting a period of managed isolation. Regular tests will be conducted during the period of isolation. Players will be allowed to do exercise & training in a gradually increasing manner after each round of negative testing. Moving from exercise in isolation to small group & then large squad activity including intra-squad practice match while remaining within the bio-bubble environment.
