IND vs NZ 2021: Black Caps collapse on 62 to register lowest test total against India

IND vs NZ 2nd Test: New Zealand on Saturday recorded their lowest test total against India after R Ashwin & Mohammed Siraj ripped through their batting order to bowl them out for 62 runs on day 2 of the second test match at Wankhede Stadium. This is also the lowest total in a test match played in India.

Senior spinner Ravichandran Ashwin returned with 4/19 & pacer Mohammed Siraj scalped 3 for 19 as the Indian spinners strangled India’s batting line-up to bundle their innings for 60 to take a first-innings lead of 263 runs. Number eight batter Kyle Jamieson top-scored for New Zealand with 17, while captain and opener Tom Latham (10) was the next best batter.

Earlier Mumbai based Ajaz Patel joined England’s off-spinner Jim Laker & leg spinner Anil Kumble to become the third bowler in World Cricket to scalp all wickets in an innings. However, he couldn’t stop India from scoring a total of 325 runs. Ajaz finished with figures of 10-119 & walked off by receiving a standing ovation from the crowd & the Indian dressing room.
