Seasoned off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin expressed his gratitude to the fans who have supported him, following India’s clean-sweep win over New Zealand in the T20I series. India defeated New Zealand in the third T20I to clinch the series with a 3-0 score.

Ravichandran Ashwin who made a powerpack comeback in the white-ball cricket played a crucial role as he fetched three wickets in the first two matches against New Zealand. The off-spinner shared a picture of himself lifting the trophy after winning the T20I series & extended his gratitude to his fans who have supported him in thicks & thins & promised to win the support of the fans who have doubted him in the past.

”Not the one for a customary post series picture but this one means a lot to me. I would like to thank all of you who have supported me & for those who haven’t, I will try & win your support in the future”, Ashwin captioned the post on Instagram.

Even the newly elected Captain Rohit Sharma has lavished praise on the off-spinner for being the ‘go to’ man for the captain. Rohit Sharma said that Ashwin has proved himself over the years & is a vital cog in the team’s bowling attack in the shortest format of cricket.

“I think it has been a great comeback for him. Ever since he played in Dubai until now, we all know he is a quality bowler, he has proved himself with the red ball & even with the white ball his record isn’t bad”, said Rohit in the post-match press conference after India clinched the T20I series.

“And now he has made a comeback & bowled in Dubai & two matches here, it shows the quality he has. He has always been an attacking option for a captain”, he added. Indian & New Zealand will now lock horns in the two-match test series which gets started from Thursday.

India’s pacer Umesh Yadav also shared a picture of team India & captioned the post as, “Overall top performance form the boys to seal the series. Onto the tests now. #TeamIndia”, Umesh said on the Koo app.

India will now lock horns with New Zealand in the two-match test series starting from November 25 in Kanpur while the secodn test will be played from 3rd Dec to 7th Dec in Mumbai.
