Portugal T20I Tri-Series 2021 Match 4: Gibraltar vs Malta:
Gibraltar will come into a face-off with Malta in the fourth match of the Portugal T20I Series at the Gucherre Cricket Ground in Albergaria.
After playing two matches, Portugal acquires the top spot on the Points Table by sealing a victory to their name. Though Malta has the same number of Points as Portugal after playing two matches, an inferior net run rate pushes them to the second spot in the Points Table.
On the other hand, Malta has had a decent campaign so far. First, they miserably failed to defend an average total of 146 runs in their opening match but bounced back strongly to seal an eight-wicket win over Gibraltar in their second clash.
The match against Malta will be Gibraltar’s second match of the day as they will lock horns first with Portugal in the first doubleheader of the day at 1.30 pm which also marks the third match of the Portugal T20I Tri-Series.
Date: August 21, 2021 (Saturday)
Time: 7:30 PM IST.
Venue: Gicherre Cricket Ground, Albergaria.
The weather is quite pleasant in Albergaria in the first few matches of the tri-series which expects to continue even on Saturday. Dew might play a factor later into the match, thus the captain winning the toss should opt to field first in today’s clash.
The pitch seems quite favorable for run-scoring & a total of around 140 might be under-par on this surface. The team batting first will look to get an extra 15-20 runs on the board.
Predicted Playing XIs:
Batters look in great form for the Gibraltar squad however the bowlers need to step up as they looked completely out of sink last time around. Louis Bruce & Chris Delany has registering stunning half-centuries for Gibraltar & will look forward to continuing their good form in today’s match.
