Ravindra Jadeja brushes aside retirement rumors says he has “long way to go” in Tests

For a few days, Reports of Ravindra Jadeja taking retirement from test cricket have been doing rounds on social media. But on Wednesday, Ravindra Jadeja has brushed aside rumors of his retirement from test cricket by sharing a post on social media on Wednesday. Though Jadeja has been ruled out of the South Africa tour due to an injury, he has revealed that he has no plans of taking retirement from test cricket.

Ravindra Jadeja has been struggling with injuries over the last 12 months & thus he has been ruled out of the home test series against England earlier this year. Since then he has featured in the IPL 2021, India’s tour of England, T20 World Cup, and the home series against New Zealand before a forearm injury ruled him out of India’s tour of South Africa.

On Wednesday Jadeja put all the speculations about his retirement to rest by asking his fans to not pay attention to such reports by posting two social media posts that indicated that he will continue to play red-ball cricket.

Jadeja first posted an image that read a quote, “Fake friends believe in rumors. Real friends believe in you.” The CSK star followed it up with a picture of him donning the Indian test jersey, with the caption “Long way to go” brushing aside all reports suggesting his retirement.

Ravindra Jadeja has been named in India’s squad for the South Africa tour but due to an injury, he couldn’t feature in the South Africa tour. Jadeja has featured in 57 Tests, scoring 2195 runs at an average of 33.76, and has one hundred to his name. Jadeja has also picked up 232 wickets at an average of below 25 and remains the fastest left-arm spinner to bag 200 wickets in Tests.
