India’s women cricketer Harleen Deol becomes the new fielding sensation for India after taking a spectacular catch to dismiss Amy Jones & save a ‘six’ in the first T20I against England. Harleen’s efforts were also noticed by the ‘Master Blaster’ who praised her by terming the catch as the “Catch of the Year”.

Though India lost the first T20I against England, Harleen Deol’s efforts didn’t go unnoticed by millions of cric-fans who applauded Harleen for her agile catch. In the 19th over of England’s innings, Jones whacked the ball towards wide-off to hit a six, however, Harleen produced an acrobatic effort to dismiss the batter. While catching the ball, Harleen realized that the momentum would be taking her over the ropes. So with the sheer presence of mind, Harleen threw the ball up in the air & dived back to complete the catch.

Sachin Tendulkar can’t resist himself from hailing Harleen for her out worldly effort. “That was a brilliant catch @imharleenDeol. Definitely the catch of the year for me!” Tendulkar tweeted.  Former Indian Cricketer VVS Laxman said that it was as good a catch as one will ever see in cricket. “As good a catch one will ever see on a cricket field, from Harleen Deol. Absolutely top class”, Laxman tweeted.

India Spinner Harbhajan Singh also praised Harleen for her agile fielding efforts to dismiss Jones. “Take a bow @imharleenDeol that’s simply outstanding keep it up”, Harbhajan tweeted. The BCCI also hailed Harleen’s extraordinary efforts by sharing the video on Twitter. The BCCI captioned the video as, “the result didn’t go our way today but here is something special from the game”.

Natalie Sciver & Amy Jones hit 55 & 43 runs to guide England towards a gleaming win in the first T20I. England scored 177 runs & then successfully restricted India to 54/3 in 8.4 overs before rain stopped the match. Since the DLS par score at that point was 72, India lost the match by 18 runs. By sealing this marvelous win, England took a 1-0 lead in the three-match T20I series against England.
