Twitter removed blue tick from MS Dhoni’s Twitter handle, Read to know why?

What comes as a shocker for MS Dhoni fans is that Twitter has removed the verified blue tick mark from Dhoni’s Twitter handle earlier today.

MS Dhoni was inactive on Twitter for the last seven months & this could be the reason behind twitter removing the blue tick from his account. According to Twitter guidelines, a verified Twitter user needs to log in to his account at least once in six months. MS. Dhoni has been inactive on Twitter for the last six months. Thus twitter removed the ‘blue tick’ mark from his Twitter handle.

However, twitter’s move didn’t go well with die-hard Dhoni fans, as many of them backlashed Twitter for removing verified status from Dhoni’s account.

But in the last few years, it has been noticed that MS Dhoni is more active on Instagram. He had also announced his retirement from International cricket through IGTV video. After that, he shared a clip from his farm on his Instagram handle. Incidentally, that was his last tweet as well, as Dhoni shared a link to his new Instagram post with his 8.2 million followers on Twitter.

A few minutes ago, MS Dhoni’s Twitter account got its blue tick back. Some people are claiming that the criticism of twitter’s move by Dhoni’s fans might have compelled the micro-blogging site to take its decision back. However, the real reason behind twitter’s decision to give back verified status to Dhoni’s Twitter account is still unknown.
