WI vs PAK 2021, 2nd Test: West Indies need 280 runs to win the second test against Pakistan on Tuesday following a spectacular performance by Pakistan both with the bat & ball on the fourth day of the second test.
After witnessing an enthralling spectacle on day four by both the team, all four results are possible on day fifth of the second test between Pakistan & West Indies. West Indies will resume their innings on 49-1 chasing a target of 329 runs. Captain Kraigg Brathwaite guided Windies through to the close of play on Monday & will resume the game on 17 not out. He has batted just 90 minutes & faced 55 deliveries. Alzarri Joseph partnered with Braithwaite who was heading strongly on eight not out off 18 balls.
The West Indies lost one wicket when Kieran Powell was run out for 23 runs in less than 30 minutes from stumps. Earlier on the fourth day, Shaheen Afridi took a career-best 6-51 as Paksitan bowled out West Indies for 150 & earned a big lead of 152. Shaheen Afridi joined with Mohammad Abbas who took 3-44 to become one of the leading wicket-takers.
But batsman Nkrumah Bonner & Jermaine Blackwood stitched a stunning stand for the fifth wicket & scored 60 runs before Abbas dismissed Bonner for 39 runs. Blackwood got out off Shaheen’s delivery for 33 runs fending a short ball from the shoulder of the bat to Fawad Alam at gully when the West Indies were at 109-7. Jason Holder led some resistance by scoring 26 under one hour before he got dismissed by Mohammed Rizwan when he edged by a full ball which moved away late & gave Shaheen his fifth wicket.
Babar Azam then declared his innings at 176-6 more than an hour before stumps setting West Indies a target of 329 runs in 130 overs to win the match & thereby series. In the second innings, Pakistan scored 6.4 runs per over, as Joseph took 2-22 & Holder 2-27 to become leading bowlers for West Indies.
