WI W vs PAK W: Cricket West Indies announced a 13 player squad for the first two ODIs of the five-match ODI series against Pakistan Women. What comes as a surprise package is the absence of Chinelle Henry from the 13 player squad.
West Indies Women’s player Chinelle Henry has been rested from the 13 player’s squad named for the first two ODIs against Paksitan Women. Earlier in the second T20I, Henry had collapsed on the field but had returned back to the squad for the third & the final T20I of the three-match T20I series.
Stafaine Taylor will lead the 13 player ODI squad while the off-spinner Anisa Mohammed will serve as the vice-captain of the squad.
“The ODI series is a perfect opportunity for the players to prepare for the upcoming ICC Women’s World Cup Qualifiers. The team had displayed reasonably good performances during the T20I series & it is important that they now transition into the longer version”, Ann Browne-John, CWI’s Lead Selector of the Women’s Panel, said.
“The Panel was satisfied with team’s T20 efforts & has opted for the same squad for the first two ODIs & the 1st “A” team match. The upcoming ODI series also gives the “A” team players a chance to play longer innings & extend themselves for longer bowling spells as they continue their development”, added Anne Browne-John.
The first two ODIs of the five-match ODI series will be played on July 7 & July 9 at the Coolidge Cricket Ground while the remaining three ODIs will be played at the Sir Vivian Richards Cricket Ground.
