ZIM vs BAN: Nurul Hasan ruled out of the remainder of Zimbabwe Tour

ZIM vs BAN: Bangladesh’s New T20I Captain, Nurul Hasan has been ruled out of the remainder of their Zimbabwe tour after sustaining a fracture on his finger during their second T20I against Zimbabwe on Sunday at Harare which they won by seven wickets.

Nurul fractured his left index finger while doing wicket-keeping against pacer Hasan Mahmud, confirmed Bangladesh’s physio Muzadded Alpa Sany. The BCB hasn’t named any stand-in captain for their third T20I but as per the sources, Litton Das who led Bangladesh in a one-off T20I in 2021 will serve as stand-in captain. Nurul Hasan would require at least three weeks to recover from the injury & thus he will not feature in the last T20I match followed by the ODI series against Zimbabwe.

“We did an X-ray which revealed a fracture to the index finger. Such injuries take about three weeks to recover from. He is therefore out of Tuesday’s last T20 match and the upcoming ODI series,” Sany said in a video message.

Nurul Hasan was handed Captaincy for the Zimbabwe T20I Series

Nurul Hasan was made Captain for the Zimbabwe T20I series as the former Captain, Mahmudullah was rested for the Zimbabwe T20I series. Talking about the ongoing three-match T20I series, Bangaldesh suffered a 17-run loss in the first T20I. However, the Tigers bounced back & won the second T20I by massive seven wickets. A specially curated five-wicket haul by Mosaddek Hossain in the first seven overs accompanied by a mighty half-century by Liton Das guided Bangladesh to a series-leveling win in the second T20I. With the series level at 1-1, Bangladesh will now face Zimbabwe in the third & final T20I on Tuesday at Harare.

After the completion of the T20I series, Zimbabwe & Bangladesh will lock horns in three ODIs on August 5, 7, and 10, all of them at the Harare Sports Club.
