IND W vs ENG W: Deepti Sharma scalped three wickets to restrict England to 219 runs in the 3rd ODI

IND W vs ENG W: Captain Heather Knight & Natalie Sciver played scintillating knocks of 46 & 49 to guide England to a decent total of 219 runs in the third & the final ODI against India on Saturday.

England collapsed from 151/3 to 219/10 in just 4 overs, thanks to the restricted bowling spell by the Indian bowlers. Deepti Sharma’s three wickets haul along with a tight bowling spell by the Indian bowlers was enough to limit England to 219 runs scored in 50 overs. Every bowler of the Indian team scalped one wicket each & left the hosts batsmen struggling to score runs in the second half of their innings.

Sent in to bat first, England got off to a bad start as they lost opener Tammy Beaumont for a duck right in the second over. Lauren Winfield Hill (36) along with heather Knight stitched a solid stand to steady their innings before Sneh Rana struck to reduce England at 68/2 right in the 17th over. England’s captain Heather Knight crossed 3000 ODI runs mark & become the fourth woman from England to achieve the remarkable feat.

However, her batting stint was ended soon as she fell short of four runs to score a half-century. Harmanpreet dismissed Heather as Knight slog-swept to Shikha at deep midwicket. Amy Ellen Jones & Natalie Sciver then stitched a brief partnership to guide England over 150 runs mark in 33rd over. However, England lost three wickets in quick succession as India denied any chance of scoring to the host’s batters.

Smirti Mandhana took a sensational catch to remove Sciver for 49 runs while Poonam Yadav dismissed Katherine Brunt to reduce England to 177/6. Wickets continued to fall in the death overs as England could bring up 219 runs in 47 runs. The match was reduced to 47 overs due to rains.

IND W vs ENG W Brief Scores:

England 219/10( Natalie Sciver 49, Heather Knight 46, Deepti Sharma 3-47) vs India.
