The BCCI President, Sourav Ganguly celebrated his 49th birthday today & the entire cricket fraternity showered their good wishes on former India Captain.

Former India players like Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, VVS Laxman, Suresh Raina, Wasim Jaffer, Pragyan Ojha, Mohammad Kaif & several others took to social media to send their greetings & best wishes to Ganguly.

The BCCI also wished its star President by sharing a beautiful artwork of Ganguly’s picture.

The special thing about Sourav Ganguly’s birthday is that it comes just a day after legendary MS Dhoni’s birthday. Not only the cricket fraternity but several fans of “Dada” didn’t miss the opportunity of wishing the former cricketer on his special day.

The ‘Prince of Kolkatta’ is currently the President of BCCI. During his illustrious career, he has represented India in 113 tests & 311 ODIs. Sourav Ganguly is hailed as one of the finest test captains in the world Cricket. Ganguly has achieved laurels during his celebrated career spanning across 16 years.

Ganguly has introduced fearless cricket to the Indian team & under his captaincy, the Indian team attained success on foreign soil. He is not only a great captain but also a swashbuckling batsman who entertains his fans with his aggressive batting style. Under Ganguly’s captaincy, India had won 11 out of 28 tests with a winning percentage of 42.85.

  • Ganguly is one of the only five cricketers to have achieved the rare feat of scoring 10,000 runs, taking 100 wickets and 100 catches in ODI cricket.
  • Ganguly is the fastest batsman to reach 6000 – 9,000 ODI runs
  • Sourav is among nine cricketers in the world to have registered a century & scalped 4 wickets in a single fixture.
  • He is among the twelve cricketers in the world to have scored a half century & taken 5 wicket-haul in a single fixture.
  • Ganguly holds the record of highest individual score registered by an Indian batsmen in ODI World Cup i.e. 1006 runs
  • He is the first player to register three centuries in the history of ICC Champions Trophy.
  • Ganguly also enjoys the record of scoring highest individual score 117 runs by any batsman in the finals of the ICC Champions Trophy against New Zealand.
  • He is among the world’s 14 cricketers to play 100 or more tests & 300 or more ODIs.
  • He is the only cricketer to win four consecutive “Man of the Match” award in ODIs.
