CS vs DBA LPL 2022 Highlights: The LPL 2022 is becoming interesting with each passing day & to add more spice to the tournament Clinical Colombo Stars defeated Dambulla Aura by nine wickets. It seemed like Aura was never competing in the fixture as batting first their innings was wrapped for a meager 89 runs within 14 overs.
Batting first, Dambulla got off to a disastrous start as Lasith Croospulle (0), Shevon Daniel (0), Rajapaksa (4), and Abell (0) all were dismissed cheaply leaving Aura reeling at 16-4. There came a respite for Dambulla Aura as Jordon Cox played a brief cameo of 16 runs off 9 balls with three fours. After his dismissal, Shanaka & Madushanka carried ahead their innings. Shanaka scored 20 runs off 11 balls with one four & two sixes. While Madushanka stayed unbeaten at 23 runs off 26 balls with three fours. But they couldn’t convert their good starts into big scores. None of their batters could stay for long on the crease & did the rebuilding for their side. As a result, their innings were wrapped for 89 runs in 15 overs. For Stars, Rajitha starred with the ball by returning with figures of 5 for 22. He got valuable support from Vandersay who too returned with two wickets.
In reply, Colombo Stars got off to a poor start as they lost their opener Niroshan Dickwella right in the first over. But it didn’t affect the Stars much as Dinesh Chandimal & Charith Asalanka took the matter into their hands & guided the team over the line within 11 overs. Chandimal & Asalanka made a mockery of Aura’s bowling attack by smashing their bowlers all across the aprk. Chandimal scored 32 runs off 34 balls in an innings embellished with three fours. While Asalanka played the role of an aggressor by scoring 58 runs off 36 balls with five fours & four sixes. As a result, Stars ended scored 90 runs in 12 overs registering a massive nine wickets win over Aura. With the incapability of bowlers to scalp quick wickets, it was only Madushanka who created an impact with the ball by returning with figures of 1-3.
