ENG vs ND 2022: England includes Mark Alleyne, Neil Killeen in Coaching Staff for ODI Tour

ENG vs ND 2022: England is all set to tour the Netherlands for three-match ODI series commencing from June 17. The tour is crucial for England as it is a part of the ICC World Cup Super League. To ensure success in this crucial ODI series, England have added Mark Alleyne & Neil Killeen to their coaching staff. The pair will be a part of the coaching team headed by new white-ball coach Matthew Mott. Thsi series will also mark Mott’s first assignment as a white-ball coach after being selected for the role in May.

The former Gloucestershire all-rounder, Alleyne who had featured in 10 ODIs for England, is an assistant director of sport at Marlborough College of an ECB scout. He was recently also appointed as Men’s Assistant Coach at Welsh fire. Alleyne had previously worked with England’s T20I players on their West Indies tour earlier this year, and have also interviewed for the white-ball job that went to Mott.

Killeen on the other hand is currently serving as the assistant & lead bowling coach at Durham. He previously had a coaching stint with England’s white-ball team, working with the ODI squad during the Ireland series in 2020. Alleyne will take up the reins of batting duties while Killeen will take the charge of pace bowling department. They will join the white ball coaching set-up which will be headed by Matthew Mott & includes the likes of Richard Dawson and Carl Hopkinson.

Earlier, England announced a strong 14-member squad for the three-match ODI series which carries crucial World Cup Super League points. Though the squad will miss the services of their multi-format players who are involved in the concurrent Test series against New Zealand, the announced squad is competent enough to face the home brew Netherlands side. England’s touring squad will depart on Tuesday, ahead of the first ODI at Amstelveen on Friday.

England will lock horns with the Netherlands in the three-match ODI series to be played from June 17 to June 22 at the VRA Cricket ground, Amstelveen.
