ENG vs SA 3rd Test: England announces its Playing XI

ENG vs SA 3rd Test: England on Wednesday announced their Playing XI for the third & final Test against South Africa, beginning from Thursday onwards. ECB has shown trust in Batter Harry Brook & has handed him his Test Debut cap. Harry Brook comes into the squad in place of Jonny Bairstow.

England’s swashbuckling batter Jonny Bairstow has been ruled out of the rest of the home summer schedule & even T20 World Cup 2022 due to a limb Injury. Bairstow sustained a limb injury while playing golf in Leeds. Bairstow’s extent of the injury is still unknown & he will see a specialist to identify the further course of action in his rehabilitation.

On the other hand, Brook made his T20I debut earlier this year against West Indies. He has represented England in four T20Is & amassed 65 runs at an average of 16.25. His best individual score is 28 runs. In first-class Cricket too, Brook has played around 56 matches & amassed 3,067 runs at an average of 36.08 in 90 innings. His best individual score in the first class format is 194 runs. Harry Brook has scored seven tons & 17 fifties in first-class format.
