Announcing his decision to retire Behardien said, “The dust has settled a bit. Been pretty emotional the last couple of weeks. 18 years have come and gone. 560 pro games across all formats, including 97 caps for my country, 17 trophies in the cabinet and blessed to have played in 4 World Cups, Thanks to my family and friends who showered me with immense support.”

He further thanked his coaches, support staff, and teammates who have supported him throughout his career. He also thanked his team Titans for giving him an opportunity to display his skills in front of the world. He also extended thanks to the fans who have supported him during his bad times & helped him to live with his dreams.

Further shedding light on his 18 years long career, Behardien said, “To be honest it wasn’t easy. The good stuff rarely is, but as a result, I haven’t “worked” a day in 18 years, cause it was my passion and I loved the graft. Feet up for a bit and on to the next challenge. Much love.”
