The World’s biggest Cricketing Tournament has reached its business end. ENG vs PAK T20 World Cup final is all set to be played at the MCG on Sunday. Pakistan defeated New Zealand while England defeated India in the semifinals to make it to the summit clash. However according to the weather forecast there are chances of rain to play a spoil sport in the final of T20 World Cup.
To avoid any hindrance in the smooth commencement of final, the ICC has fixed a reserve day for the summit clash on Monday. In addition to the reserve day the ICC has also announced a few changes to the Playing Conditions for T20 World Cup Final.
The Event Technical Committee has raised the provision of additional playing time on the reserve day form two hours to four hours in respect to clause 13.73 of the Playing Conditions, in case more time is required to complete the fixture & get results, stated ICC in an Official Release.
Further the ICC stated if due to rain any reduction of overs is required to complete the final on the scheduled day then it would be incorporated. Only if the minimum number of overs necessary to complete a match cannot be bowled on Sunday then the match will go into the reserve day. Play on the reserve day will begin on sharp 9.30 pm & would be a continuation of play from the scheduled match day.
ICC has specified that 30 minutes of extra time will be available to complete a match on Sunday while an additional four hours will be allotted to complete the match on Monday. A provision of Super Over will come into effect if both the teams scores tied at the end of the fixture. And if due to weather interference the Super Over cannot be completed on time then Pakistan & England both will be declared as joint winners.
