Sri Lanka’s fast bowler Dushmantha Chameera & Captain Kusul Perera have advanced up in the latest ICC Men’s ODI Rankings Weekly Update.
The duo of Chameera & Perera has made considerable gains after starring in a 97 run win over Bangladesh in the final match of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Super League Series. Whereas Indian Cricket Team Captain Virat Kohli & Vice-Captain Rohit Sharma have retained their second & third spots in the ICC ODI batsmen rankings. Whereas Jasprit Bumrah has maintained its fifth spot in the ICC ODI bowler rankings.
Dushmantha Chameera’s career-best five wickets haul for 16 runs helped him to won the ‘Player of the Match Award’ in the third ODI & also helped him to advance by 27 spots to reach his career-best 33rd position on the ICC bowler’s Rankings list. Chameera has started the ODI series from 72nd position & considerably moved up on the Rankings last week with a three-wicket haul in the second match.
Perera’s sixth ODI century has helped him to advance 13 places to reach 42nd position in the ICC Rankings weekly update which is carried on every Wednesday. However, Perera moved up by one spot from his career-best rankings of 41st position achieved in June 2016.
Dhananjaya De Silva is another Sri-Lanka player who gained up in the rankings, moving up by 10 places to 85th position after a brilliant knock of 85 runs. He has also progressed by two places to 79th position on the ICC bowlers Rankings list & advanced up by seven places to 24th position among the all-rounder’s Rankings list. Leg spinner Wasindu Hasaranga has moved up by nine places to 51st position.
For Bangladesh who won the ODI series with 2-1, Mahmudullah’s knock of 53 runs helped him to advance by two spots to 36th position while Mosaddek Hussain’s innings of 51 runs have moved him by 12 places to 113th position in the ICC Rankings. Fast bowler Taskin Ahmed who scalped four wickets for 46 runs has advanced by 12 places to reach 88th position.
