International Cricket Council has released Men’s ODI Player rankings on Wednesday. England’s all-rounder Chris Woakes has grabbed his career-best third position in the bowler’s list of the ICC Men’s ODI Player Rankings after displaying a sharp bowling spell against Sri Lanka during the three-match ICC men’s Cricket World Cup Super League series.
Woakes who has scalped six wickets in two ODIs including a four-wicket haul in the first ODI has moved up by four slots to reach the third position in the ODI Rankings list while Trent Boult continues to dominate the list by retaining the top spot in the bowler’s rankings list. While Bangladesh’s Mehidy Hasan grabs second place in the list. Chris Woakes has also progressed one place up to grab the third spot in the all-rounder list of the ICC ODI Player Rankings by overtaking England’s Ben Stokes.
Other bowlers of the England team such as David Willey & Tom Curran too have moved up in the weekly rankings update. David Willey has advanced up by 13 places to reach 37th position after scalping nine wickets which included 4 wickets haul for 64 in the second ODI. Tom Curran’s four wickets haul in two ODIs helped him to progress up by 20 slots to reach 68th position on the ICC Men’s ODI Rankings List.
Among batsmen, England’s Test captain Joe Root advanced up by two places to reach 13th position by scoring a series topping aggregate score of 147 runs while Eoin Morgan advanced up from 26th to 25th position. Sri Lankan Captain, Kusul Perera also moved one place up to 41st position after scoring 82 runs in the ODI series while Dhanajaya De Silva has moved up by 10 spots to reach 74th position. Dasun Shanaka & Wanindu Hasaranga are currently in the 98th position after moving up by 13 & 12 places.
In ICC Men’s T20I Rankings list, Quinton De Kock has moved up by nine places to grab 13th position after scoring 255 runs in the five-match series against West Indies. Aiden Markram moved up by 23 places to 19th position while George Linde advanced up by 30 places to reach 43rd position. Lungi Ngidi moved up by 25 places to 56th position these are some of the bowlers who gain after their 3-2 win.
For West Indies, Evin Lewis moved up by one place to reach the ninth position after scoring 178 runs while Nicholas Pooran moved up by 20 places to reach 87th position. Shimron Hetmyer moved up by 15 places to reach the 99th position. Among bowlers, All-rounder Dwayne Bravo advanced up from 95th to 44th position after finishing with 10 wickets while Obed McKoy has moved up by 65 places to 53rd position with nine wickets registered on his name.
