In the ICC Men’s ODI Player Rankings Update which considers the performances in the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup Superleague series that England won by 3-0 against Pakistan & the two matches of ongoing Ireland vs South Africa series, Babar Azam has retained his top position in the list.
Babar Azam who scored 158 runs knock in the final match of the OGI series has moved up by eight points to reach 873 rating points, 16 more than Virat Kohli who is currently in second place. Rohit Sharma occupies the third position in the list with 825 rating points. Other players who gained in Wednesdays’ updates include the Ireland pair of William Porterfield who moved up by five places to 74th position. Harry Trector (up by 37 places to 90th position), Proteas Janneman Malan (moved up by 12 places to 95th position), & England’s James Vince (moved up by 85 places to 113th position) in the batter’s rankings list.
Among bowler’s list, England’s fast bowler who gained in Wednesday’s update includes Saqib Mahmood (moved up 89 places to 63rd position), Ireland’s Craig Young (moved up by four places to 78th position), & Joshua Little (moved up by 22 places to 86th position)
In ICC Men’s T20I Player Rankings, West Indies spinner Fabien Allen on Wednesday moved up into the top 10 after displaying a fine performance in the ongoing five-match series against Australia. He gained 16 places to reach 10th position in the bowler’s list after scalping three wickets in the first three T20Is. Sheldon Cottrell (moved up by two places to 22nd position) while Dwayne Bravo (moved up by seven places to 37th position), Obed Mckoy (moved up by 15 places to 38th position) are the West Indies bowlers who have moved up in the latest rankings update. For Australia, fast bowler Mitchell Starc has moved up by five places to reach 29th position.
Shimron Hetmyer (moved up by 37 places to 62nd position) Lendl Simons (moved up to six places to 64th position) are the players who have moved up in the batsmen’s list. While Chris Gayle & Andre Russell are tied in 103rd place after gaining 22 & 38 places respectively.
In the ICC Men’s Test player Rankings, Zimbabwe captain Brendan Taylor who has played a blistering knock of 81 & 92 has moved up by seven places to reach the 28th position. Blessing Muzarbani (moved up by six places to 45th position) Donald Tripano (moved up by three places to 76th) is Zimbabwe’s bowlers who have gained in the latest weekly update.
For Bangladesh Century scorer Mahmudullah moved up by 19 places to 44th position. Liton Das has moved up by 15 places to reach 55th position while Mehidy Hasan moved up by six places to 24th position after registering a nine-wicket haul. Bangladesh’s bowler Taskin Ahmed has advanced from 95th to 89th position.
