ICC Women's Rankings: Mithali Raj & Lizelle Lee takes top spot in the latest Updates

India’ ODI Captain Mithali Raj retains top spot in the Latest ICC Women’s ODI Rankings update while South Africa’s opener Lizelle lee’s unbeaten 91 runs in the opening match of their series against West Indies has helped her to join Mithali Raj on the top spot in the batters list.

Earlier Lizelle Lee has acquired top position in the batters list in June 2018 & again acquired the top spot in March this year after scoring 18 runs in the second match which was also considered in this week’s rankings updates.

Lizelle Lee is now tied with India Captain Mithali Raj at 762 rating points, with Australia’s Alyssa Healy being six points behind the duo in third place. The Proteas Women’s team captain Dane Van Niekerk has made notable gains in this week’s rankings update. Niekerk advanced by one spot to reach 25th position among the batters & six places to 19th spot among the bowlers after scalping two wickets each in the first two matches of the series which the South Africa women won by the margins of eight & nine wickets.

The other South Africa batters who made gains in the latest update are Wicket-keeper Trisha Chetty who advanced by one place to 44th position & Lara Goodall advanced by four places to 51st spot while 10th ranked Laura Wolvardt’s unbeaten 36 & 71 helped her gain 14 points & reach within four rating points of  India’s opener Smiriti Mandhana.

In the ICC Women’s ODI Rankings bowlers list, Ayabonga Khaka advanced up by one place to reach seventh position & Tumi Sekhukhune moved up by two places to reach 35th position. Kycia Knight has advanced by seven places to 55th position while Britney Cooper has moved from 79th to 71st among batters list.Hayley Matthews has advanced up by five spots to reach 27th position among the bowlers list.

In the ICC Women’s T20I Player Rankings, the performances in the last match of the England New Zealand series & 13 matches of the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier has been taken into account. Zimbabwe’s Modester Mupachikwa has entered into the top 20 spit in the batters list by gaining 10 spots.

Meanwhile Mary Anne Musonda who scored an unbeaten 52 against Tanzania to be awarded as the ’Player of the Match’ has gained 14 slots to reach 52nd position in the T20I Rankings list for batters. In the ICC Women’s T20I Player Rankings update, Shafali Verma is enjoying the top spot in the batters list. Tanzania’s Fatuma Kibasu & Uganda’s immaculate Nakisuyyi have entered the batters list in Rankings update. In the all-rounder list, West Indies all-rounder Deandra Dottin has moved up by one spot among the batters & bowlers.
