ICC Men’s ODI Rankings
ICC has released the latest updates in the Rankings & Indian openers Shikhar Dhawan & Shreyas Iyer are the massive gainers in the newly updated list. India’s opener Shikhar Dhawan has moved up to occupy a joint 13th position in the ICC Men’s ODI Rankings list while Shreyas Iyer moved up by 20 places to occupy the joint 54th spot after India won the second ODI match against West Indies.
Shikhar Dhawan’s amusing 97 runs off 99 balls along with Shreyas Iyer’s composing 54 off 57 balls helped India to post a mammoth total on board in the first ODI. As a result, West Indies failed to chase the total & India won the match. Dhawan & Shreyas’s heroics with the bat helped them to move up on the ICC Men’s ODI Rankings.
South Africa’s Quinton De Knock too made positive gains in the ODI rankings after his valorous unbeaten 92 runs knock in the third ODI against England which was washed out by rain, leveling the series at 1-1. England’s pacer David Willey too moved up to 23rd position while Mohammed Siraj break into the top 100 list in the ICC Men’s ODI Rankings for bowlers.
West Indies Shai Hope’s 115 runs knock in the second ODI against India helped him to move up by three places to occupy 12th position in ODI Rankings for batters. While Pacer Alzarri Joseph has moved up by two places to occupy the 16th position on the bowlers’ list.
Shafique Abdullah & Prabath Suriya made an upward move in the ICC men’s Test rankings on the back of their gleaming performances in the first Test in Galle. Abdullah who played a match-winning knock of 160 runs & has amassed 720 runs in his first six Tests moved up by 23 places to occupy 16th position. Shafique also becomes the first Pakistan batter to score 671 rating points after six test matches. The previous best record by a Pakistan batter after six Tests was Saeed Ahmed’s 614 rating points & only two batters had more points after six Tests i.e Sunil Gavaskar (692) & Donald Bradman (687).
Left-arm spinner Jayasuriya whose 21 wickets tally help him to become the third bowler to score most wickets after two Tests & has moved up by 11 places to occupy 44th position with 481 ratings in its kitty which is the fourth highest by any bowler after two Tests.
Meanwhile, Pakistan Captain Babar Azam who scored 119 & 55 helepd him to overtake Steve Smith to reach his career-best third ranking with 874 rating points. Babar is currently top-ranked in both ODIs & t20Is & third-ranked in Tests. He becomes the only batter who occupies a spot in the top 10 across all formats.
In the ICC Men’s Test Rankings for bowlers, Shaheen Afridi achieves his career-best third position in the list after scalping four wickets in the first innings. Hasan Ali & Yasir Shah have also moved up by one spot to reach the 13th & 12th positions. Sri Lanka’s Dinesh Chandimal has moved up by 11 slots to reach the 18th position after scores of 76 & unbeaten 94.
ICC Men’s T20I Rankings:
New Zealand batters Glenn Phillips & Pacer Lockie Ferguson have made positive gains in the T20I Rankings while Ireland bowlers Mark Adair & Joshua Little moved up to 43rd & 44th positions in the bowlers’ Rankings.
