Akeal Hosein & Jason Holder have achieved career-best positions in the latest ICC T20I Rankings for bowlers after taking West Indies to a glorious win in the fifth T20I against England in Bridgetown.
Left-arm spinner Hosein has moved up by 15 spots to reach the 18th position after scalping 4 for 30 in teh final T20I. He finished by scalping six wikcets in three T20Is meanwhile Jason Holder who ran through England’s batting order by scalping four wikcets in four balls to end the final T20I with 5 for 27 & fetched nine wikcets in the last three T20Is, has gained 20 points to move up by three spots to 23rd position.
The other bowlers who have made notable gains in the T20I bowling rankings are Sheldon Cottrell (up 10 places to 31st), Moeen Ali (up to three places to 32nd), and Liam Livingston (up 33 places to 68th). Among the ICC T20I Rankings for batters, Nicholas Pooran has gained eight places to 18th after hitting a total of 113 runs in the three matches – which includes 70 in the third T20I.
Brandon Kings & Windies Captain Kieron Pollard have also gained big in the rankings. King moved up 25 places to 58th, while Pollard jumped 15 places to 60th. Moeen, who scored a match-winning 63 and picked up 2 for 28 in the fourth T20I, has gone up 30 places to be 67th. Moeen has also surpassed Glenn Maxwell & Wanindu Hasaranga to grab a rewarding third spot among allrounders.
After IND vs SA 2021, T20I series Indian & South African players have also made positive gains in the latest update. India’s batter KL Rahul moved up to fourth on the ICC T20I rankings while captain Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli retained their 11th and 10th spots. Meanwhile, Babar Azam & Mohammed Rizwan retained the top two spots in the latest T20I Rankings update.
Proteas Aiden Markram is just one spot above Rahul grabbing the third spot in the list while England’s Dawid Malan grabbed a spot in the top five among the rankings.
