ICC T20I Rankings: Suryakumar Yadav retains number one spot, Hales moves up to No 12

ICC has released the latest updates in T20I Rankings & India’s middle-order batter Suryakumar Yadav continues to top the batting charts. On the back of clinical performances in the Super 12 stage of the T20 World Cup 2022, Suryakumar has managed to replace Pakistan’s opener Mohammad Rizwan in the top spot to become the No.1 batter in the T20I format.

Despite occupying the No 1 spot, his rating points declined from 869 to 859 after scoring a meager 14 against England in the semifinals which India lost by 10 wickets. On the other hand, Alex Hales jumped up by 22 spots to occupy the 12th position among batters Rankings. His stellar unbeaten 86 off 47 balls against India helped Hales to reach his career-best 12th position in ICC T20I Rankings.

Pakistan Captain Babar Azam’s match-winning fifty in the semifinals against New Zealand helped him to move up by three places in the batters Rankings. On the other hand, Rilee Rossouw moved up to the seventh position & New Zealand’s Glenn Phillips moved down to the eighth position in the latest rankings update. Mohammad Rizwan, Devon Conway, and Aiden Markram are the other batters who occupy a spot in the top five list. While Rizwan & Markram strongly holds second & fifth position, Conway who lost his third position to Babar Azam now occupies the fourth spot.

ICC T20I Rankings for Bowlers

In the bowling Rankings, Adil Rashid has been their biggest gainer after registering figures of 1-20 against India & 2-22 against Pakistan in the final & semi-final of the T20 World Cup 2022. He climbed up to the third position after jumping up by five spots.

On the other hand, Sam Curran who won the ‘Player of the Tournament’ & ‘Man of the Match’ for his gleaming performances throughout the tournament has jumped up by two spots to occupy the fifth position in ICC T20I Rankings for bowlers. Wanindu Hasaranga who ended the tournament as the highest wicket-taker with 15 scalps on his name retains his top spot in the bowlers rankings.

In the all-rounders Rankings list, Bangladesh’s Shakib-Al-Hasan, Afghanistan’s Mohammad Nabi & India’s Hardik Pandya continues to occupy the top three spots after note-worthy performances in the marquee event.
