ILT20 extends local Players Registration deadline to November 21

UAE’s ILT20 has extended the UAE Player Registration deadline to November 21. This will help local players who want to participate in the inaugural edition of the league but are yet to register to put their names forward for consideration.

The inaugural edition of ILT20 which has received multi-year ICC approval is all set to begin in January 2023 & would be played in 34 matches format across UAE’s world-class facilities in Dubai, Abu Dhabi & Sharjah.

Mubashshir Usman, the General Secretary of the Emirates Cricket Board said that the League Management has decided to extend the deadline for UAE’s player registration after receiving an overwhelming response from local players & academics.

“We have received over 300 applications for participation in the league at this point of time & our team has accepted the requests from local players, their agents & academies to allow them more time to obtain & provide the needed documentation to be compliant with both Emirates Cricket Board & ICC requirements,” Mubashshir Usmani said in a statement

ILT20 Franchisees to conduct local Player Trials in the Coming Days

In accordance with ILT20’s underlining values & commitment to nurture UAE talent, the league encourages local players who are based & playing in the UAE to express their interest in playing in the league by visiting ILT20 new website & registering their name on it.

With the view of identifying & giving opportunities to local talent, Desert Vipers have recently ended their UAE-based trials where exceptional talent in playing players was recognized & noted by their coaching & performance team. Following their footsteps, the Dubai Capitals franchise will also be conducting UAE-based player trials over the coming days.

Through the registration website, interested players have been asked to review the selection criteria which adhere to Emirates Cricket Board & ICC’s Playing Guidelines. Six teams will announce full squads for the ILt20 in early December after the completion of the selection process. Each franchise will comprise a minimum of 4 UAE players.

Six franchisees participating in ILT20 are Abu Dhabi Knight Riders, Desert Vipers, Dubai Capitals, Gulf Giants, MI Emirates, & Sharjah Warriors. All the teams comprising 84 International players & 24 UAE-based players will compete for the coveted inaugural ILT20 Trophy.
