IND vs BAN: Rohit Sharma likely to return for second Test

IND vs BAN: There comes good News for the Indian team playing the Test series in Bangladesh. Indian Cricket team Captain & their designated opener Rohit Sharma is all set to return back to action for the second & final Test match against Bangladesh beginning at Mirpur on the 22nd of December. As per the reports, Rohit Sharma has completed his rehabilitation in Mumbai & would return back to Bangladesh for the Karachi Test.

For the unversed, Rohit Sharma sustained a thumb injury during the second ODI against Bangladesh. However, the warrior still played the fixture with a heavily bandaged thumb & tried to guide his team over the line. But due to the serious nature of the thumb injury, he couldn’t make it to the third ODI & was also ruled out of the first Test currently being played at Chattogram. After the second ODI, he was immediately flown to Mumbai where he consulted a specialist doctor.

As per the reports of the medical team, Rohit Sharma has been facing difficulty in playing due to his persistent injury. And because of Rohit’s injury, he has been ruled out of the ongoing first Test being played in Chattogram from 14th December. In Rohit’s absence, KL Rahul is leading the test team in Chattogram Test while Abhiman Easwaran the star of the India A team has been named into the 17-member Test squad as Rohit’s replacement.

IND vs BAN: Injuries became a major concern for the Indian Team

Injury spate continues to haunt the Indian Cricket team in Bangladesh as along with Rohit many other key players have been ruled out of action due to injuries. Jasprit Bumrah is out of action since Asia Cup 2022 due to a back injury while Mohammad Shami & Ravindra Jadeja has been ruled out of action due to shoulder & Knee injuries. These players have failed to recover in time & thus have been ruled out from both Test fixtures.

Meanwhile, to fill in the void caused due to the absence of Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammad Shami & Ravindra Jadeja, Navdeep Saini, Saurabh Kumar & Jaydev Unadkat have been added to the 17-member Test squad as their replacements. Currently, India & Bangladesh are locking horns in the first Test of the series being played on the ground of Chattogram.
