IND vs ENG: Rohit Sharma suffers an injury scare ahead of Semifinals

There comes an injury scare for India ahead of their T20 World Cup semifinal clash against England. Their captain Rohit Sharma was struck on his forearm during India’s optional training session. He was facing throwdowns from one of India’s three specialist bowlers when he was hit on the forearm. Following this, he looked in immense pain & gave up batting. However, after some time he returned back & ended the practice session on a positive note.

Indian batters practices against throw-downs because of the extreme pace it generates which enables them to prepare for high-pace deliveries in the middle. However, this time the ball just nipped back in & hit him on the forearm after which he looked in immense pain. Rohit was provided immediate medical attention & after five minutes he returned back to the field to examine how his hand is feeling but could play just one ball & walked back.

Rohit Sharma went back to the outdoor facility & was icing his injured forearm with Mental conditioning coach Paddy Upton by his side. After 45 minutes Rohit went back into the nets & started batting carefully. Initially, he started by defending some throwdowns but later he found back his groove & batted normally even against Raghavendra’s throwdowns.

With one more training session scheduled ahead of the semi-finals, there is still room for Rohit to get back into the rhythm. The other interesting part of India’s optional training session was the time Dinesh Karthik spent batting on the crease as he & Hardik Pandya were the only members of the squad who choose to become a part of the optional training session ahead of the semi-finals.

Coming to the T20 World Cup 2022, the semi-final round will begin on Wednesday, 9th November. The first semi-final will be played between New Zealand & Pakistan at the grounds of Sydney on 9th November while the second semi-final will be played between IND vs ENG at Adelaide on 10th November. Winners of both semi-finals will then face each other in the final clash on November 13 at the MCG.
