IND vs NZ 3rd T20I Highlights: India records 10th International series win as fixture ended in draw

IND vs NZ 3rd T20I: Fortune has once again ruled in favor of Team India as a rain threat helped the side to survive a decisive New Zealand bowling attack here in the third and the final T-20I of the series as the match ended in a tie with the DLS method. With this, India recorded their 10th consecutive series victory and scripted history.

Winning the toss at the McLean Park in Napier, New Zealand skipper Tim Southee elected to bat first on a hard and crusty surface. Batting first, the Kiwis crumbled in the start but managed to put up a decent total of 160/10 in their first innings.

Conway-Phillips Guided Black Caps to a decent Total

New Zealand was off to a clumsy start as frontline batsmen Finn Allen (3) and Michael Chapman (12) failed to make an impression. As a result, New Zealand was struggling at 44/2 and managed to put only 48 runs in the power play.

In-form batsman Devon Conway (59) and Glenn Philipps (54) then came to the rescue and staged a marvelous 96-run stand for the third wicket as New Zealand managed to score above the par score of 150.

For India, ace paceman Arshdeep Singh continues to star with his stunning form and scalped 4 wickets for 37 runs. Iconic pacer Mohammed Siraj was also captivating in his approach as he too grabbed 4 wickets for just 17 runs. Harshal Patel (1/28) scaled a wicket apiece.

Rain turned lucky for India who clinched the fixture by DLS Method

Chasing a modest total of 161 runs, India was off to a nightmare start as the frontline batting attack collapsed in front of a thunderous pace attack led by Southee and Milne. Ishan (10), Pant (10), Yadav (13), and Iyer (0) failed to hold the crease as India was trailing at 60/4. Though skipper Pandya (30) seemed to be in exquisite touch, it became really hard to predict a result between two world-class teams.

India equaled the DLS Par Score of 75 runs in 9 overs and the match was declared as a tie. For New Zealand, Tim Southee (2/27) was exceptional with his line and length whereas Ish Sodhi (1/12) and Adam Milne (1/23) chipped in a wicket apiece. India and New Zealand will now faceoff in an ODI Series starting on 25th November.
