IND W vs AUS W CWG 2022 Final: After producing sprightly performances during the group stages of Commonwealth Games 2022, & securing a thrilling win in the semi-finals, India Women marched into the summit clash of the CWG 2022. However, all their efforts & pains went in vain as the World Champions once again proved that no one can beat them when it comes to big events.

India Women displayed a spell-bounding performance but failed to get through in the end. Opting to bat first, Australia was wrapped for a defendable total of 161 runs, thanks to India’s lethal bowling spell. But they failed to capitalize on their good bowling show & had to settle for a silver medal. Batting first Australia got off to a poor start as they lost their star opener, Healy, for seven runs. India’s one & only Renuka Singh did the honors by trapping Healy LBW & giving India their first breakthrough.

Meg Lanning & Beth Mooney then anchored Australia’s innings by adopting an aggressive batting approach. They hit some big shots & carefully ran between the wickets stitching a powering 74-run stand for the second wicket. However soon their stand was broken with Meg Lanning getting run-out in the 11th over off Radha Yadav’s In the very next over, Tahlia McGrath was dismissed off Deepti Sharma’s delivery.

In reply, India Women got off to a poor start as they lost their openers Smriti Mandhana (6) & Shafali Verma (11) cheaply with India’s score read 22 for 2. However, Jemimah Rodrigues & Harmanpreet Kaur came to India’s rescue & helped them to recover from an early jolt.

The duo played meaty shots & smashed Australian bowlers across the park to accelerate India’s innings. The duo stitched a notable 96-run stand to bring India back into the game. Harmanpreet Kaur played some lusty shots to score 65 runs off 43 balls while Jemimah Rodrigues adopted a run-a-ball approach to scoring 33 runs. However, their vital stand was soon brought to an end with Rodrigues scalping Vastrakar’s wicket in the 15th over followed by Harmanpreet Kaur in the 16th over.

Sneh Rana & Deepti Sharma then tried to anchor India’s innings by playing some big shots. However, Australian Women had some other plans as they dismissed Sneh Rana (8) in the 17th over followed by Deepti Sharma in the 19th over. India needed 11 runs in the last over but couldn’t get through as they were bundled for 152 runs in the end.

The great Indian team failed to turn their dream of winning the maiden Commonwealth games Cricket title & had to settle for a Silver medal. On the other hand, Australia Women got successful in continuing their legacy of winning marquee events & won the gleaming Gold medal as well as the title of CWG 2022 Cricket title.
