Deol got dismissed in the 40th over after scoring 58 runs off 72 balls but Harmanpreet was there on the crease to keep things under control for India.

Indian Bowlers over-shadowed Wyatt-Capsey’s crucial contribution

In reply, England got off to a disastrous start as both their openers Tammy Beaumont(6) & Sophia Dunkley (1) were dismissed in the powerplay overs to reduce England to 12-2 in just four overs. Emma Lamb & Alice Capsey tried to show some resistance & kept the scoreboard ticking for hosts. Capsey & Danni Wyatt then led the fightback by playing some meaty shots. Alisa Capsey scored 39 off 36 balls while Dyani Wyatt registered her half-century & smashed 65 runs off 58 balls. However, the duo was sent packing off Deepti Sharma & Renuka Yadav’s delivery to leave England reeling for runs.

Later Amy Jones (39 of 51 balls) & Charlotte Dean (37 off 44 balls) tried to keep England alive in the chase but failed to do so as India kept scalping wickets at regular intervals. They returned with three wickets in 32 balls to wrap up England’s innings for 245 runs in 43 overs.
