Danielle Wyatt’s stupendous 89 runs knock guided England to an eight wickets win over India in the third & the final T20I match at the County Ground in Chelmsford. England chased the target of 154 runs with eight balls to spare.
Harmanpreet Kaur won the toss & opted to bat first in the third T20I match & brought up a total of 153/6. Opener Shafali Verma failed to score even a single run & lost her wicket to Katherine Brunt. Smriti Mandhana steadied India’s innings by scoring a stunning 70 runs in the final T20I match. Harmanpreet’s 36 runs off 26 balls & Richa Ghosh’s 20 runs off 13 balls helped India to register a competitive total. However, other Indian batters failed to score any dominating score.
Chasing a total of 154 runs, England lost their opener Tammy Beaumont in initial overs. However, Dyani Wyatt’s unbeaten knock of 89 runs off 56 balls changed the momentum of the match in the host’s favor & helped England to lift the Trophy. Wyatt brought up a 112 runs partnership with Natalie Sciver who scored an unbeaten 42 runs off 36 balls.
