Marnus Labuschagne has pulled out of the Vitality T20 Blast clash against Middlesex on Sunday night after his teammate Nick Selman tested positive for COVID-19. Labushcagne was deemed as a close contact of Nick Selman & thus he didn’t traveled with Glamorgan’s squad to play Middlesex at Radlett on Sunday.

Australia’s pacer Michael Neser also pulled out of the tournament as he too was deemed as a potential close contact of Nick Selman. “The positive test came out at about half-past seven this morning (the day of the game against Middlesex) and as a precautionary measure we kept Marnus out from traveling with us today,” Coach Matthew Maynard was quoted as saying by cricket.com.au

Nick Selman who has tested positive for COVID-19 has been asked to isolate from other players & spent 10 days in isolation. “We’re not sure where Nick Selman picked up Covid, whether it was down in Brighton or in Cardiff, but he wasn’t feeling well, so he went for the tests and the results came through at 07:30,” added Maynard.

Shedding some light on Marnus Labuschagne’s achievements, he has scored 294 runs in six fixtures of Vitality T20 Blast at an average of 58.8 by registering three half-centuries on his name. He has also accomplished big accolades in test cricket by finishing the World Test Championship as a leading run-scorer.

He became the first concussion substitute used in the history of test cricket, by replacing Steve Smith in the second Ashes test played at Lord’s in the year 2019. Labuschagne has made his first-class debut in the 2014–15 Marsh Shield campaign at the age of 20. He has finished as the second-highest run-scorer in the 2018 Marsh Shield contest by amassing 795 runs, including two hundred and four fifties. Marnus Labuschagne has achieved various milestones in his illustrious cricketing career & is one of the leading batsmen in World Cricket.

Marnus Labuschagne will be the key player for Australia in the 2021 Ashes tournament & he will definitely make a way into Australia’s final squad for the T20 World Cup which will begin from October 17 in the UAE.
