Sanju Samson reveals the Reason behind RR’s loss in yesterday’s clash against CSK!

Captain Sanju Samson

Rajasthan Royals Captain Sanju Samson said that the chase against Mumbai Indians in yesterday’s clash could have been easy if dew would have come in.

“Considering the previous matches that we have played here or which we have watched on television, I think bowling first has more advantage than bowling second at Wankhede stadium. So that’s why we opted to bowl first & restricted CSK around 180 which was a really good performance by our bowlers”, Samson said at the post-match conference. “I thought if the dew comes on & the wicket eases out a bit it would have been an easy chase for us”, Samson added.

Captain Sanju Samson also highlighted the fact that he is not bothered about failures & said he would continue to play his shots & keep on batting the way he loves to bat in the IPL 2021. Samson scored a swashbuckling century in the first match of the IPL 2021 which RR lost to Punjab Kings. However, RR made a solid comeback by winning their second match against DC. But RR failed to deliver in their third match against CSK which they lost by 45 runs.

“It keeps on happening in this format of the game. I think IPL involves a lot of risk-taking shots. I said before when I succeeded, I took a lot of risks. That’s why I can score a ton. So it depends on the day the mindset which you are coming in with”, Samson said.

“I don’t want to restrict my shots. I want to keep batting the way I love to. So I am not at all worried about getting out. But at the same time, I definitely look to keep on contributing to my team’s victory in the upcoming matches”, Sanju added.

He said that the IPL is a risk-taking tournament & if sometimes we fail to win it’s ok. “Pressure to perform is always there in IPL. Sometimes you succeed while sometimes you fail. IPL is a long format as you play continuous 14 matches it is quite normal to miss few matches”, said Samson.

“But it is important how good as a team we are. So that we will keep on coming back & keep on trying to win matches. Asked about the batting order, Samson said.

“I think our batting order is set up very nicely. Batsman Shivam Dube is someone who is quite good at playing spin attacks & pace. I think batting at No.4 really suits him well. It depends on the condition in which we are playing”, Sanju added.

“I think he has done really a good job in the domestic season & I feel that he is looking forward to scoring more runs in the upcoming matches”, Sanju Samson concluded.
