The Indian Premier League (IPL) is a platform where every day new records are made & past records are broken. Earlier it was Umran Malik of SunRisers Hyderabad who created the record of bowling the fastest delivery of the season by clocking a delivery at 157 kmph. However, in the IPL 2022 Final, Gujarat Titans pacer Lockie Ferguson broke Umran’s Malik record by clocking a delivery at 157.3 kmph against RR. Ferguson achieved the landmark in the fifth over of the first innings to write his name in golden words in the history of the IPL.
Ferguson put everyone in shock by clocking a fiery delivery speeding at 157.3 kmph against RR in the final & thereby walked away with the record of bowling the fastest delivery of the season. Lockie Ferguson has proved his mettle with the ball by scalping regular wickets in the IPL 2022. Ferguson picked up 12 wickets in IPL 2022 before the start of the final match.
Lockie Ferguson’s delivery is the second fastest delivery in the history of the IPL. It is Shaun Tait who holds the record of bowling the fastest delivery in the history of IPL speeding at 157.71 kmph.
Though Ferguson smashed the fastest delivery of the IPL 2022, we can’t forget Umrsn Malik who initially displayed a stellar show of pace by consistently bowling above the speed of 150 kmph. His name comes in third & fifth place in the fastest delivery of the IPL list after bowling at a speed of 155.60 kmph & 157.00 kmph respectively. Umran Malik ended the IPL 2022 by scalping 22 wickets & grabbed the limelight with his five-wicket haul against Gujarat Titans. His consistent performances have helped him to earn a maiden call-up for team India for the upcoming T20I series against South Africa.
Coming to the match, Gujarat Titans clinical all-round show helped them to beat Rajasthan Royals by seven wickets in the IPL 2022 Final at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. The win helped Gujarat Titans to lift their maiden IPL Trophy right in their debut IPL season.
